Weekly Recipe #5: The Perfect Toast

Golden Brown and Delicious Toast

A Quick Blurb

A recipe for toast? Why yes! The perfect toast with jam or preserves and butter is the best way to start the morning. Im not sure about you, but for a while, I would pan-fry the bread in either butter or oil until it had that nice crust. Which is delicious no doubt. However, it’s not consistent. And consistency with structure allows for efficiency in the kitchen. That is the reason for recipes! Plus, with a toaster oven handling your read, you can fry your egg or make amazing scrambled eggs at the same time on the stove!

This is where a toaster oven comes in. Ahh yes, the toaster oven, is one of the greatest multitasker kitchen gadgets you can have in the house. You can bake cheese bread, heat up pretty much any leftovers, and cook any frozen foods faster than it would take to preheat the oven. It’s also better than a microwave. Also, of course, it is perfect for toasting toast!

The Hardware and Software of the Recipe

Hardware:

– Toaster oven

– Butter knife

Software:

– Good bread or any bread you have

– Butter (at room temperature if you can!)

– Any preserves you want, I love strawberry preserves

Let’s Cook

Step 1: The Set Up

Set your toaster oven to 325 degrees F and have the setting on “toast”.

Note** Not all the toasters are made the same. Therefore, you may have to alter the settings on your toaster to perfectly toast your toast!

Step 2: Wake and Toast                                                                                              Set your time to 6 mins exactly. This will get you that perfect golden brown! However, that is for my toaster oven. Now, things can get a bit tricky if you don’t know your toaster. The bread in the back of the toaster will cook faster than in the front. Therefore, if your partner, like my future wife, likes it done a bit more, put theirs in the back!

Like cooking, the longer you toast the bread, the more the color will change. So as said in the note, be wary of your toaster. It may take longer or shorter depending on the toaster!

Step 3: The Finish                                                                                                          Spread on your butter and preserves. Take a bite, a sip of coffee, and enjoy your morning!
